New theme
December 18, 2006 | 11:06 amI just changed my theme from Freshy by jide to Tulip Time by Highland Design. Though the old theme was pretty colorful and, well, “fresh”, It just wasted too much space for me. So, I was on the lookout for a three column theme, and after hitting upon a lot of themes, I finally found this theme. It was love at first sight, and kudos to John, especially considering that it was his first theme!
The cool thing about this theme being, It gives more prominence to the blogroll on my right, and the calendar. The calendar reminds me that I’ve to post more often, and the blogroll reminds me that I’ve to read more:D Hope I’m able to do both…
The only thing I added? Categories in the Blogroll now show up! And, the Meebo Me! Widget as well…
Show up, and comment!

Michael | December 19, 2006 | 1:59 amI too am looking for a third column…currently using the freshy theme. I’ve had no luck though. I saw this theme, but don’t like the colors, or the picture in the header, or really the leaves falling in the background. How customizeable is this theme? My blog is about entertainment in houston texas, and it needs to look more chic and modern, which the freshy theme does well.

And, hey, I think the Freshy theme is perfect for your blog:D But, only at Two columns. Three columns just doens’t look that chick:D
The wordpress themes at http://themes.wordpress.net/ is cool, but make sure you look through all the themes. The ratings/download count doesn’t exactly reflect the awesomeness of a theme:D

Saurabh Jain | December 24, 2006 | 6:37 pmHey!
Have been on a blogging sabbatical of late - and just got back.
About your new theme - Wow!
Really awesome - and everything looks so nice and colorful and alive.
Good job on selection and customization.
I especially love the way the numbers and dates are handled on the RHS.
Cool

Ron Schott | February 10, 2007 | 6:57 amI recently switched to the Tulip Time theme for Wordpress and I’d really like to get my Blogroll to display in categories just like yours. Would you reveal the modification you made to ’sidebar.php’ to get this output?
Thanks,
Ron

Flat World Fixer Upper » Ron Schott’s Geology Home Companion Blog | February 18, 2007 | 12:05 am[…] About a month ago I made a couple of updates to this blog, thanks in no small part to the urging of my San Diegan feline friend. Among the additions were an Author blurb with my contact info (top left), an About page (still needs work), and most noticably, a switch to the Tulip Time Wordpress theme, designed by an outfit out of Bowral, NSW, Australia. I’ve been meaning to update my blogroll for a while, too, and today I got a helping hand from Yuvi Panda, a 16-year-old blogger and Microsoft Student Partner living in Chennai, India. I liked the way he hacked the blogroll of the Tulip Time theme to sort links by category and he was kind enough to reply to my request for the code necessary to implement it. Thanks to all of you for your help! […]
