OLPC and Kids

May 2, 2007 | 5:01 am

Christian Long Reports on the first OLPC deployment, in Nigeria.

Rocks. The Computer my Dad bought for me changed my life in ways too drastic to mention. Think of what will happen if each of the kids below gets a Laptop.

Personally, I prefer the “hole in the wall” computer. Community learning helps; Big time.

@sharath: olpc takes community learning to a new level, basically if you have a local mesh network then students in a class can share questions, homework etc a little like a cleaner, focussed facebook for school kids.

@TP - thanks for the link.

I think kids like that are getting closer and closer

Jasmine Jouissance | May 10, 2007 | 3:38 pm

I think kids like that are getting closer and closer to getting a lap top. Went to the market yesterday and saw small electronic shops fitted up with outdoor video game stations and all these cute kids huddled around it playing car racing games. Anyway, I like your blog, come and check out our desi site with tons of weird clips of like micheal jackson having a dance off with a sardharji. http://remainsofthedesi.wordpress.com/
